Barcelona . . .
We've been here six days and are finally getting accustomed to the neighborhood. Barcelonetta is a lively area with spotty internet, so the posts have slowed down. The apartment complex WIFI is up and running again -- but for how long? The good news is that I have an interview in Huddersfield for a teaching position. I am spending the weekend getting things together for a short presentation. It looks to be an all day affair. Ah interviews, love 'em. So I will have to leave Barcelona and Angela behind for a few days while I revist the UK. I let you know how things go.
We went to the Parc Güell yesterday. It is a long walk up a steep hill but certainly worth it. The park was designed by Gaudi and is, as Angela calls it, marshmallow land (this picture is of the gatehouse). It is really a interesting place and includes a peak (with three crosses) that is probably one of the higher points in the city. I took a multi-photo panoramic of the city. We will see if I have time to Photochop it all together.
Tonight we might go out to eat at the Olympic Village which, since the games have gone, has been converted into a row of restaurants and bars along the coast. There is yet another Buddha Bar knock off that we are going to check out -- mainly because they have sushi and we like to try sushi in different locales.
