Back up . . .

Sorry the page has been down the last few days. The servers were moved around here at SARC so we were all down over the weekend. But, now we are back up. The domain pointer had to be switched around a bit so make sure that your bookmark is going to www.geistweidt.com and not h80999.etc.

Students are back this week and I have officially been given some teaching responsibilities. Good for the CV!

Upon my return . . .

I have just returned from ICMC 2005 in Barcelona, Spain. It was a wonderful time in which I split my interests between the conference and the coast. It was good to meet each and every one of you. Please keep in touch.

Upon my return from Barcelona I immediately went to work facilitating development days for Bruiser Theatre Company's production of The Secret Life of Adrian Mole which will be presented as part of this year's Belfast Festival. Through two full days of vocal exercises and explorations the cast, director and myself investigated ways to adapt the score of this kitchy 1980's musical to a purely acapella presentation.

I am beginning meetings with the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) this week to participate in their exciting IGNITE! programme. As a mentor artist, I will be working with chldren (11 to 13 years of age) to create sound collages over a two day workshop at Belfast's W5 Discovery Centre.

Barcelona bound . . .

Well, we are on our way to Barcelona for ICMC 2005. I'm very excited and ready to hand out a few CD's and business cards, take in the fresh ideas and just renew the creativity. Angela is packing and I need to do the same. I am bringing along my swimsuit for the beach. We are staying in Barceloneta, a small peninsula that juts out into the Mediteranean. It should be fun. While away my phone will be working if anyone needs me. This morning I've already decided that we must have a few cocktail hours over in our rooms. Hope I have time to see a few sites. But, friends are always the best site. It's 9:00 am and this is beginning to sound like some sort of Hello Kitty blog. I'll be back to my surly self tomorrow when I awake in Spain. Stay tuned to this blog for blog-dates (updates.) Sign off. . . .
